Welcome to the Kettering Fairmont High School Library Home Page. Your Library Media Specialist/KCS Media Coordinator is Ms. Jillian Kelsey and the library aide is Mrs. Jeanne Youngmann. The Library Media Center is a facility for all students and staff. This facility serves three purposes. It is a place where the students may learn and practice library skills. It also provides a source of supplementary information for the course of studies. Finally it provides enrichment and pleasureable reading for all students. Our goal at Kettering Fairmont High School Library, is to ensure that students graduate as competent, critical, and ethical users of information. It is our mission to prepare lifelong learners; "information literate" citizens able to determine their information needs, recognize relevant information, solve problems and effectively communicate the results of their research.
The Library extended hours are 7 a.m to 6:30 p.m.
Students may check out 5 books at a time for a period of two weeks. We have 60 laptops and a printer for student and teacher use.
IPAD Mini Loan Program:
The library now has 40 IPAD Minis for students to checkout for one day. There are educational apps for student use. When checking out a IPAD Mini students will use the same rules and procedures as checking out a book from the library. Students will also need to have their parents and unit principal sign the IPAD Mini loan form. There is a $400 dollar fine if the IPAD Mini is lost or damaged. Please see Ms. Kelsey in the library if you have any questions.
Laptop Computer Loan Program:
The library has 12 laptop computers for students to check out for five days. When checking out a laptop computer students will use the same rules and procedures as checking out a book from the library. Students will also need to have their parents and unit principal sign the laptop computer loan form. Students can pick up a laptop computer loan form in the library or download the form from the school website. There is a fine of $100 dollars if the laptop is lost or damaged. If a student returns the laptop late then he/she forfeits the privilege of checking one out again. Please see Ms. Kelsey in the library if you have any questions.
