Beginning in April (April 3rd- 25th), students at Fairmont will take the new AIR tests (End of Course assessments) mandated by the state of Ohio for students to complete/pass for graduation. These new assessments replace the Ohio Graduation test (OGT) and are designed to measure student progress toward Ohio’s new learning standards. Students will demonstrate their acquired skills and knowledge by answering computer-based, machine scorable questions. Results will measure what students were able to learn, retain, and apply throughout the course.
More information on these new tests, as well as other graduation information can be found on the Ohio Department of Education’s website testing page- education.ohio.gov/tests & parent info page education.ohio.gov/parents. Specifically, the important graduation requirements/options found on this website include:
Cumulative performance earned on the state end-of-course tests or their approved substitutes;
A remediation-free score on a college admissions test; or
A workforce ready score on the WorkKeys test in combination with an approved industry recognized credential.
