Brittany Peckham, who graduated from Fairmont High School in May, earned the prestigious Emmy Award in the “Short Form – Non-Fiction” category for her video titled, “Born to Create.”

Fairmont Interactive Media instructor, Scott Leo, notes that this is the second consecutive year that a Fairmont student has won an Emmy, and that Peckham is one of only 10 high school students in the Ohio Valley Chapter to win an Emmy in the 2017 NATAS annual competition.

In addition to Peckham’s win, Fairmont student, Max Williams received an "Honorable Mention" as a photographer for his project titled "Hocking Hills," and Max and fellow Interactive Media students, Megan Guyett, Syrrina Mullins, and Tim Edmonds received an "Honorable Mention" for their "Stand Up for Public Schools" video.
