Principal's Message

Brian Zawodny
Principal

August 1, 2016

Dear Families of Greenmont Elementary:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Brian Zawodny, the new principal of Greenmont Elementary. I am very proud and excited to be coming to the Kettering City School District and to serve Greenmont, in particular.

I am coming to this school with eight years of administrative experience from the Milford Exempted Village School District, and prior to that, I was an intervention specialist working with students with varying disabilities for ten years. All but four of my many years in education have been working with students at the elementary level. I am looking forward to getting to know the staff, students and families of this building. I am really amazed at what I've seen since starting here.

I value strong relationships with those I work with, including our families staff and especially our students. Please, don't be afraid to come in and introduce yourself to me or let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

I have included some important dates below as we approach the first day of school. If you have any questions, please, call the main office. I hope you're looking forward to the upcoming school year. It's going to be a great one!

Friday, August 12 at 4:00 PM Class lists posted on the front doors

Sunday, August 14 at 1:00 PM Gifts by Grace Service Project

Any student who is enrolled at Greenmont and their families can come to Greenmont to work on a variety of service projects and when they're done, they can pick out their school supplies.

Monday, August 15 Open House & Curriculum/Title 1 Night

from 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM Please look on the back of this letter for more information on this event.

Wednesday, August 17 First Day of School!

Don't forget that students should not be dropped off in the front of the building until 7:40 AM. Students will be allowed in for breakfast starting at 7:50 AM, and the building will open for students at 7:55 AM. If your family qualifies for free or reduced cost meal options, be sure that any new students (kindergarten students or new families to Kettering) are covered by contacting Food and Nutritional Serves at 937-499-1446. If a student is not covered (even if siblings are already covered), they will be charged for meals until the paperwork is complete.
