Lori Simms Parks has been a resident of Kettering since 1991 and a member of the Kettering Board of Education since 2004.

She is the proud parent of six children and a stepson, four of whom are Kettering Fairmont High School graduates. She is also “Mimi” to Satya, Sapphire and Kaia.

Lori currently serves as the Board of Education representative on District Problem Solving Committee, and serves on the district's Wellness and Technology committees. In 2017, Lori was appointed to the Ohio School Board Association SW Executive Board.

She is a current board member of Choices, Inc. and has an appointment as secretary on the Dayton Sister Cities Committee.

Lori has also been involved with Junior League of Dayton, the Women's Club for the Home Builder's Association of Dayton, the 10th and 20th Anniversary Committee of the Dayton Peace Accords and the first-ever Dayton Literary Peace Prize, awarded in 2006.

She is a graduate of the University of Dayton, having earned her BA in psychology in 2013.

Lori, who married Bob Parks in August 2013, enjoys music, travel, cooking and sport-fishing.
