Julie Gilmore has been a Kettering resident for 66 years and has been a member of the Kettering Board of Education for the past 20 years.

A Fairmont High School graduate, Julie received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Dayton and completed graduate work at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Julie served as a teacher in the Kettering City Schools for 32 years, teaching Social Studies to 9th- and 10th-grade students. She also served as a supervisor of student teachers at Miami University and at Antioch University McGregor.

A dedicated community volunteer, Gilmore is a past member of the Kettering Neighborhood Pride Committee and the Kettering Sister City Committee and a long-time member of the Noon Optimist Club.

Julie is a member of St. Albert the Great Church in Kettering.
