It is an exciting time when your child is ready to begin kindergarten. We in Kettering Schools are equally excited to welcome new FIREBIRDS to the fold!
Transitioning to kindergarten is a big milestone for you and your child. Our caring and professional staff will work in partnership with you to make this important year of your child's academic career as successful as possible.
Parents/guardians will register online prior to bringing the required documents with them to finalize their child's registration during Registration Week.

Kindergarten registration for Kettering children for the 2018-19 school year will begin on Tuesday, February 20, and continue through Friday, February 23. Registration will take place at the Board of Education/D.L. Barnes Building, 3750 Far Hills Avenue, on February 20 and 23, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on February 21 and 22, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. When registering your child, you will also set up an appointment for his/her readiness screening, to take place in early March.
Children who are five-years-old ON OR BEFORE July 31st of this year are eligible to register for and attend kindergarten.
We urge you to register if your child is age-appropriate.
When you register, please bring the following documents:
* Original Birth Certificate
* Parent/Guardian ID
* Immunization records
* Proof of Kettering residency
-- Homeowners: Mortgage Statement or Deed
-- Renters: Official and complete signed rental or lease agreement
-- In addition, both homeowners and renters need to provide a current DP&L or Vectren bill.
* Complete, time-stamped custody papers if applicable (divorce or legal custody)
* IEP (if applicable)
* ETR (if applicable)
