Only one shot is required if the student is age 16 or older when receiving the vaccine for the first time or if the student will be 15 or younger when attending the 12th grade. All 12th-grade students must receive the vaccine prior to the first day of school. Kettering City Schools is requesting that parents and guardians of current 11th-grade students provide written documentation of their student's Meningococcal vaccination or a completed exemption form by no later than Thursday, March 30, 2017. Written documentation of the shots or a completed exemption form must be turned in to the school nurse prior to the start of the 2017-18 school year or students will be excluded from school and district sports programs.
Please DON'T WAIT! If your student is currently in the 11th grade, the school nurses urge you to make an appointment now with your doctor or the public health department to have your student vaccinated. Immunizations are available with an appointment at Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County at 937-225-4550. Please contact the school nurse if you have questions:
