Fairmont Industries Plant Sale to be held May 8-12

Fairmont Industries Plant Sale May 8-12

The Annual Plant Sale will be held Monday-Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. -- rain or shine -- under the big white tents on the East Lawn in front of Fairmont High School. Gardeners will have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of flowers, herbs, hanging baskets and vegetables at the sale. In addition, planters created by Fairmont Industries students in their Greenhouse at the high school will be available for sale.

The Fairmont Industries Annual Plant Sale provides a hands-on opportunity for the students to learn about gardening, purchasing and customer service. In addition to the work they do on the planters that will be for sale, the Fairmont Industries students accompany their teachers to Stockslager's Garden Center to select the flowers, plants and baskets that will be available for purchase. The students and staff also hand-pick items that people have pre-ordered.

The Annual Plant Sale is Fairmont Industries' largest fundraiser and helps support many of the program's extracurricular events and activities. Fairmont Industries is a program that assists students with disabilities in developing strong life and job skills that serve them now and will continue to do so in the future after graduation.
