2018 SPIRIT SHIRTS – PLEASE SUPPORT SPIRIT CHAIN!
The Kettering community has contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the Spirit Chain competition by purchasing spirit shirts. We couldn’t beat Centerville without your help and we appreciate your support! We are offering a short-sleeve shirt and a long-sleeve shirt (see the back).
What is Spirit Chain?
Spirit Chain is a competition between Kettering and Centerville Schools to see who can raise the most money for charity prior to the Fairmont/Centerville football game on October 19th. Last year, with the support of the Kettering community, Fairmont raised $85,189! Please help us again for the 34th YEAR OF SPIRIT CHAIN!!
How do I order?
Please download the order form here, fill out the form and return it with your payment to the main office of any Kettering school building. We can accept checks (payable to Kettering Schools) or cash. The order form and payment must be returned to the student’s school office by Wednesday, September 26th! Shirts will be delivered, in multiple rounds, based on when order forms are received. All orders received by September 26 will be delivered to the buildings in time for Fairmont-Centerville Spirit Chain Game on October 19.
Where does the money go?
This year the money will benefit three organizations:
- Kettering Backpack Program- Helps to sustain students’ nutritional needs over the weekends by discreetly providing 600 at-risk students with a bag of food each Friday throughout the school year. Sixteen elementary/middle schools are served through this program. (www.ketteringbackpack.org)
- BOGG- Provides the greater Dayton area with food, clothing, and other essentials to sustain a healthy lifestyle. The primary ministry is the Mobile Meals program, but BOGG also offers referrals for support groups and community services. (www.thebogg.org)
- We Care Arts- Believes in the healing power of creating and producing art that transforms physical, developmental and mental challenges into a future rich with possibilities. (www.wecarearts.org)
