Students will learn about the world around them. This course is structured with a "hands on" approach and will include a variety of labs and projects. Main themes of the course will include pollution, waste, ecology, and sustainable development. If you are interested in pursuing an environmental career, taking an extra science elective, or getting a third science credit toward graduation, then this class is for you! You may take each semester independently or take both for a full science credit.
Semester One: Basic Ecology, Oil Spills, Population, Waste Management, Resource Planning/Zoning,
Semester Two: Renewable Energy, Water Pollution, Air Pollution, Coral Reefs, Soils, Forestry, Careers, Possibly: Ethics, or Major Project
