Dear Student and Parent/Guardian(s):
It is my pleasure to have you (your son/daughter) enrolled in my Culinary Techniques course. This semester the students will learn the skills to prepare eggs, salads, vegetables, grains, meat and poultry, cakes, cookies, and pies. Nutrition for physical well-being will be introduced and then incorporated into each unit for healthy food preparation and enjoyment. All of this will be accomplished through class assignments and cooking labs.
My mission as a teacher is to enable each student to earn his/her best "paycheck" (i.e. learning, grade, credit, and ultimately, a diploma) from Kettering Fairmont High School. You will be empowered with self-confidence, pride, and real world life skills for future success. I hope my experience and enthusiasm show in the quality of the program that I share with you.
As part of Fairmont's Family and Consumer Sciences program, we try to meet or talk to each parent. The purpose is to share the program as well as enlist your support towards your student’s success.
