Lynn Rohr has been a music teacher in the Kettering City Schools for 27 years. Before that she taught one year in West Carrollton and part of a year in the Greenhills - Forest Park Schools. She grew up in Oxford, Ohio and participated in the Miami University Orchestra in high school. Miami was an obvious choice for college where she continued to study with the violin teacher she had in high school. Violin is her major instrument which she started playing at age nine in the public schools. Private lessons soon followed and she realized early on that she wanted to make music a career. Besides playing in the orchestra at Miami, she was also the field commander for the Miami Marching Band for 4 years.
After graduating from Miami, she auditioned the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and has been playing in the orchestra ever since.
Lynn married Steve Rohr in 1987 and they have two daughters. Brittney is 22 years old and a senior at Miami. She is studying Exercise Science and is also on the Miami swim team.  Natalie is a senior at Fairmont. She  plays the cello and is an excellent swimmer as well. She will also be attending Miami University next fall and swimming as a Redhawk.
Lynn decided ten years ago because of the Philharmonic and weekend swim meets, that she wanted to work part -time. She gave up teaching at the high school and now only works part - time as a string teacher at Van Buren.
