Hello! My name is Nicole Shellabarger. I am a graduate of Wright State University with bachelor's degrees in English and Elementary Education. Also, I graduated from the University of Dayton with a master's degree in Special Education. I was a teacher at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Kettering, Ohio for 12 years teaching Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students with moderate to intensive special needs. This year I transferred to Greenmont Elementary School in Kettering to accept a different teaching assignment. Currently, I provide intervention to students with mild to moderate special needs in grades 4 and 5. My intervention program includes inclusion intervention, small group intervention, and 1:1 intervention.
In May, I welcomed my first child into this world. He is the joy of my life! My favorite freetime activity is of course spending time with my beautiful baby boy and watching him grow and learn. Besides that, I enjoy reading, listening to music, attending cultural events, and traveling.
So far, this year at a new school with a different teaching position has started without many hitches. I currently have 12 students that I work with on a daily basis. I am really enjoying a great beginning of the school year and getting to know my new building, staff, and students.
