Welcome! I am looking forward to leading my second graders on an exciting educational adventure. It will be full of reading, writing, mathematics, and using technology. As your child walks through my classroom door, we become partners in education. Together we will encourage and support your child every step of their learning.
I am starting my 22nd year of teaching. I have been teaching at Oakview for 15 years. I started out teaching second grade, moved to fifth grade for a few years, and now I am very happy to be teaching second grade again.
Prior to living in Dayton, I taught grades 3-5 in Columbus, Indiana. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and my Master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. I believe in being a life-long learner, so attending workshops and seminars on current education practices is a priority.
My goal is to know each student’s learning strengths and challenges, nurture them to care for others, inspire them to be active learners, and encourage them to find satisfaction in the habit of working hard. In Room 203, we strive to be RESPONSIBLE for working cooperatively and being RESPECTFUL to everyone.
