Welcome to Room 308 at Southdale
My name is Tricia Taylor. Students and I work together to grow as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, good citizens, problem solvers, and members of the Southdale Spirit Community. Everyday we work hard, listen to each other, and make plans to help us be the best we can be. We are always connecting our learning to self, peers, school, family, community, and the world. There is so much to soak up and explore in the school days and school year!
I have been teaching since 1993! I began my teaching career in Kettering City Schools student teaching sixth grade at Southdale also in 1993. I have always loved working with children. Growing up I was the oldest with four siblings, babysat, directed community summer camps, and a product of family members that are educators. Going to school was a positive experience at all levels.
I am originally from Tipp City, Ohio graduating from Tippecanoe High School. I continued my education at the University of Dayton earning my degree in Elementary Education with a Math concentration in 1993. I completed my Masters Degree in Teacher Education/Reading, also from the University of Dayton in 1996. It has been a career full of professional development and college courses from a variety of universities ever since. Teaching is a rewarding passion and I am grateful I chose this career!
I have been blessed with a daughter, Hallie, a son, Oliver, and my husband, Kent. When I am not at school, I enjoy family, friends, adventuring, birding, scuba-diving, camping, gardening/ canning foods, cooking, and reading.
