Welcome to Greenmont Elementary!

First, I want to say that I am really excited about this school year! I am anxious to get to know your child and start building a community of learners in the classroom. I also wanted to give you some information about myself!

I attended Greenmont as a child. As a matter of fact, 4 generations of my family has attended Greenmont! My grandma was the first class to attend Greenmont way back in 1944! So needless to say, Greenmont has always held a special place in my heart!

I am a 1995 graduate of Kettering Fairmont. After high school, I decided to wait to go to college due to family affairs. In 1998, I started working at Miami Valley Hospital on an Advanced Care Unit and continued at MVH until 2009. In 2004, I started my path to become an educator. I graduated in June of 2008 with my Bachelor’s Degree. At this time, I continued to work at MVH and I also accepted the position of Kid’s Club teacher, at Greenmont, the following school year. I taught Kid’s Club for one year and then was hired as a Kindergarten teacher. I taught Kindergarten for five years (and LOVED every minute of it)! In 2012, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Literacy, which was awesome! In 2014, I was moved from Kindergarten to Second Grade.

I have a lot of responsibilities at Greenmont-the BIGGEST is making sure every child has the opportunity to learn in a safe and caring environment. I have high expectations of my students and we all strive to do our best every day. Other responsibilities at Greenmont include Literacy Specialist, Technology Leader, Co-Secretary of the PTA (with Mrs. Karkalik), and many other important committees. I have written Grants through the McDonald’s Corporation for Kindergarten Reading Supplies as well as through the Kettering Education Foundation. Although there is a lot on my plate, I want to assure you that your child will always be first and foremost! Together, through building our classroom and school community, anything is possible. I encourage you to join and go to PTA meetings, volunteer with parties, in the classroom, and with field trips.

If at any time you have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to let me know. My preferred method of contact is via email or Remind (information is in your registration packet-if you need another copy, let me know). Phone calls are fine, just be aware it could take a day to respond. Together, we will make this year the BEST! Thank you for trusting me with your biggest treasure!

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know!
