Hello!  My name is Beth Fensel and I am the art teacher at Oakview elementary.  I also teach at J.E. Prass elementary.  I started my teaching career at Northmont high school.  I taught at Northmont for three wonderful years. I then transferred my career to the Kettering school district. I taught at Fairmont for two years.  I truly enjoyed my time at Fairmont but decided that I would like to gain experience teaching all grade levels, so I requested a transfer to Kettering Middle School.  I enjoyed teaching every grade level at KMS for nine years.  When our district decided to merge an elementary and high school position, I volunteered.  So for one year of my career I taught at Oakview in the morning and Fairmont in the afternoon.  This experience lead me to want to further explore the elementary side of art, so I requested to teach elementary full time. I now have the opportunity to inspire around six hundred budding artists each week.  Throughout my career, I have taught, airbrush, advanced studio art, art I, cartooning and illustration, commercial art, photography, stage design, crafts, 6th, 7th and 8th grades, and grades 1-5.

I love the fact that I have had such wonderful experiences with all grade levels.    I absolutely love teaching art.  I believe that there is a hidden artist in everyone just waiting to be inspired!
