Hi, my name is Mr. Horcher. I am a Health and Physical Education teacher at Kettering Fairmont High School. I am also a Varsity Assistant Football, Wrestling, and Track coach. This will be my fifth year with Kettering City Schools. I have spent the past four years teaching Physical Education at the elementary and high school levels. This will be my first year teaching Health Education at Fairmont. I attended The University of Dayton and majored in Physical Education. I received my Health Education certification at Emporia State University. While attending UD, I was also a four year starter for the Flyer football team.

It is a honor to work with your son/daughter. In my class, your child will work on physical, mental, and social development. In Physical Education class your son/daughter will be introduced to a wide variety of traditional, recreational, and unique games/activities. In Health Education Class your son/daughter will be introduced to wellness concepts to help them make healthy decisions in life. My goal in class is for your son or daughter to take interest and gain knowledge in wellness and physical activity.  I hope to promote a long lasting healthy lifestyle in your son/daughter.

IMPORTANT NOTE for high school students in my physical education class:

If your child misses class, they are expected to make up the class. They must perform 15-20 minutes of physical activity outside the classroom and submit an activity form to me. They can pick up the activity form in my office when they return to school.

Also, if your child does not dress they will receive no credit for that day.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Again, welcome to my physical or Health education class. I am excited to start building relationships with your child and to help them grow into responsible young adults.

Mr. Horcher
