Hello! My name is Kelly Zecchini and I am the 7th grade counselor in South unit at Kettering Middle School. I received my undergraduate degree from Cedarville University where I majored in psychology. I received my Master's of Education in School Counseling from Wright State University. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, cooking and traveling.
As a counselor at Kettering Middle School, I am here to help your child with any social, emotional, or personal problems that are preventing them from learning. This is done through individual and group counseling, intervention meetings, and referrals to community resources.
Confidentiality is always kept between the student and the counselor on any social, emotional, or personal problems they are experiencing. Confidentiality will be broken if the student gives permission or if the student is at risk for harming themselves or others, they or someone they know are being harmed, or they are in danger.
In addition to helping your child learn, I also make their schedule, coordinate their standardized testing, provide character guidance lessons as needed, consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, & parents, and respond to a school crisis or emergency situations.
A student may request to see me by filling a self-referral form in the office or on the Student Links website. I also see students at the request of a parent, administrator, staff member or friend.
