Beavertown Named a 'School of Promise'

Congratulations to Beavertown Elementary School, which has been recognized as a 2014 "School of Promise" by the Ohio Department of Education.

Beavertown Principal, Mike Kozarec and his staff and students hosted State Superintendent of Instruction Dr. Richard Ross and Ohio School Board Vice President Tom Gunlock for a visit to the school October 29th, where Dr. Ross announced that Beavertown is one of only 98 schools across the state to earn the "School of Promise" designation.

In his comments during the assembly, Dr. Ross acknowledged that he was impressed by the attendance of parents, board members, city leaders and business leaders - in addition to the students and staff members --  who were all on-hand to see the unveiling of Beavertown's "School of Promise" banner. "It is wonderful to see parents and teachers here and to have such great representation from your city and from your board of education," noted Dr. Ross. "When you have this kind of community support, you are going to have successful schools."
