Fairmont Theater Department to Present "The Unprincess"

The Kettering Fairmont High School Theatre Department will present the 2014 Children's Play, "The Unprincess," on Saturday, April 26th, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

When the immature and power-hungry Princess Cecily drops a dirty shoe into the water bucket of the heroine, Maggie, she discovers the stark contrast between the pampered life of the royals and the powerless and poor lives of the villagers of Forlorn. This charming story by Edith Weiss is full of twists and turns and a wonderful life lesson, complete with a happy ending.

Art on the Playground Set for May 17th

Art on the Playground, an interactive art festival geared toward kids of all ages and presented by Rosewood Arts Center, will be held on Saturday, May 17th, at Indian Riffle Elementary School.

This unique event features hands-on art stations, a collaborative art piece and much more. This event is perfect for any creative child who is interested in trying new things. Art on the Playground takes place rain or shine, is FREE and all are welcome.

On-line Registration Open for Kettering Safety Village

On-line registration for Kettering Safety Village is now open. Children ages 5 and 6 are eligible to register for Safety Village. This is a fun, hands-on way for children to learn about all aspects of safety -- from personal and fire safety to seat belt and school bus safety to understanding traffic signs and signals.

Sponsored by the Dor-Wood Optimist Club and operated by the City of Kettering Engineering Safety Section, Safety Village will have four sessions, beginning on June 2.
