I am enjoying my 18 years of teaching and love being in the Kettering City School District. I have the best students, staff and families in Kettering. I spent 5 years teaching elementary students grades 1-6 in Trotwood and then moved to Fairmont teaching grades 9-12 Special Education in Fairmont Industries. I am currently teaching an adult transition class at the Barnes building. My main focus in the classroom is to prepare students for the real world through positive meaningful experiences with community instruction, vocational training, and life skills activities that can be applied in the real world. I want my students to be independent, genuinely happy and enjoy life.
I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Wright State University. I have a bachelor degree in Education and am certified to teach Special Education K-12 Developmentally Handicapped and Specific Learning Disability. I have a master's degree in Educational Leadership. I enjoy teaching but love spending time with my family when I am not working. My husband Tim and I have 3 children. We have 2 daughters, Lauryn (17) and Mckenzie (21) and a son Nate (8). My kids keep me busy and running all the time. I love it.
