Hello all, my name is Alex Kowal and I am a Intervention Specialist in room 525 in the South Unit of Fairmont High School. So a little bit about myself I have spent most of my life in Kettering and my family still lives in Kettering. I still have very close connections with Ketttering and surrounding communities. I graduated from Archbishop Alter High School although do not hold that against me.
After high school I attended Bowling Green State University to earn my bachelors' degree and teaching certificate as an intervention specialist. While there I received a great education along with a wide variety of student teaching experiences ranging from Kindergartners all the way up to high school students in a career tech environment.
After graduating from Bowling Green I accepted my first job at Piqua High School through the Miami County Educational Service Center as a teacher in a Emotional Disabilities Classroom. While there I receive experience in teaching a variety of subjects including Math, English, Science, Social Studies, and Life Skills. This job at Piqua High School provided me valuable experience that I know I will use for the rest of my teaching career. When a position opened up at Fairmont though I knew I had to take it and I am very excited about the coming school years at Fairmont.
Some other general information about myself is that I am a huge fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Premier League Soccer. I enjoy playing golf, soccer, and basketball. Some other hobbies I include reading, listening to music of all kinds, cooking, and fishing.
