I am proud to announce that I am a graduate of Kettering schools. I attended Beavertown, Rosewood, Indian Riffle, and Fairmont East. I am a strong supporter of Kettering schools and am entering my 29th year of teaching at JFK. Seventeen of those years I partnered with Marilyn Dickey in a multi-age classroom. We enjoyed teaching about Ohio history, Native Americans, geology, rocketry, and we generally studied about 25 novels each year with our students. We are proud recipients of the Martha Jennings Scholar Award and Excellence in Teaching Award. In the last several years I have been awarded grants from KEA, the Air Force, SmartBoard, and MacDonalds to further enhance and benefit students' learning. Teaching is my passion and joy!
I have been married for forty-one years to David, a tooling engineer. We have three children. Jonathan is a WSU graduate and Lieutenant at Beavercreek Fire Department. Justin is an Air Force Officer in charge of ambulatory care and the Emergency Room at Beale Air Force Base, CA, and Kaitlyn is a third year nursing student at Sinclair. I have four beautiful grandchildren: Brianna-7, Riley-5, Jaxson-3, Charley-1. We have a white Great Pyrenees dog boating, a Siamese cat, a parrot, two guinea pigs, and two hermit crabs.
I enjoy reading, travel, hiking, swimming, biking, boating, and cheering at my children's many sporting events.
