A group of caring parents and teachers who collaborate to promote the education and well-being of KMS students.

Reasons why to join the PTO…
- Research has shown that students perform better in school when their parents are involved.
- You become part of a network of parents and teachers, which leads to better communication with your child’s teachers, principal, etc.
- PTO assists in creating a supportive and encouraging school environment.
- It is a great connection with the school. You will be the first to hear about upcoming school changes or decisions.
- You are a role model for your child and their friends. By helping with the PTO, you are showing that you value education.
- It is flexible…volunteer as much or as little as you can.
- You can make a difference by sharing your skills.
- It is fun and you get to meet other parents.
Ways to Help PTO
- Become a member for $5 per adult.
- Attend a meeting or two or more. It is not a requirement to attend any meetings, if you become a member.
- Volunteer to help at PTO events: socials, AAA, Honor Roll Doughnuts, book fair, socials, etc. We need volunteers to make the events possible.
- Partake in Dining for $$$ nights. These are passive fundraisers scheduled with area restaurants.
Yummy dinner/treat nights = Percentage of sales given to KMS PTO.
- Support our only major fundraiser, KMS PTO Walk-A-Thon, held September 22. Students collect pledges and walk to promote a healthy lifestyle. Students contributing $5 or more will be entered in a drawing for fun prizes. Bonus: There is no merchandise to sell or deliver.
- Participate in other passive fundraisers (Wink wink your family and friends can participate too):

Sign Up Here!
Please use the Membership Form link to sign up. Dues are $5 per adult with a KMS child or grandchild and may be (1) mailed to KMS PTO, 3000 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45440 (2) returned to your child's advisory teacher or unit secretary in the form of cash or check written to the KMS PTO. Also, please remember to clearly write your name on the envelope. Please print the attached membership form if you prefer to submit a paper form. After the membership drive ends, a prize drawing for members will take place. Winners will be mailed their prizes, or prizes will be sent home with their students.

Spirit Wear Sale
All spirit wear orders can only be placed at the Deuce Shirts website. On September 2, the website will close at 11:59 PM and cease taking orders. Once the website closes, Deuce Shirts will begin to the process the orders. All orders will be mailed or ready for pick up from Deuce Shirts ten days after the website closes. The spirit wear includes sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, and dri-fit tees. Please see attachment for which items will be offered.

Walk-A-Thon fundraiser
KMS PTO is trying Snap Raise for their 2021 Walk-a-thon. As in previous years, students will still collect donations and earn prizes, except all donations will be submitted online through Snap Raise. This year the overall earner (AKA raises the most money) will win a Nintendo Switch, a game, and carrying case! There will also be prizes for each unit's top earner and a prize drawing for those students collecting $5 or more.

You will be directed to add your emails. The expectation is that every member of our team has 20 quality emails uploaded to your profile. We will be able to track emails and our student prize winners!
Make sure your emails do NOT include students, teachers, fake emails, etc. and are only legitimate potential donors. Again, we will be tracking this.
There will be incentives for those that participate fully in this campaign, so please help us raise funds.

KMS PTO Annual Walk-a-thon
Students collect donations prior to the walk-a-thon and participate (walk) in the walk-a-thon.
There will be prizes for the overall earner, each unit’s top earner, and a drawing of fun prizes
for students donating $5 or more.

Project Read Book Drive begins and runs through the end of October. Book bins will be
in each unit for families and staff to donate used or new books.

This social is FREE and for sixth graders only. Pizza and water will be the only items provided and will be FREE. Students can wear the t-shirts or jerseys of their favorite teams.
Parents must pick you up in the Central Unit parking lot at 4:30 PM.
All sixth graders should have received a digital flyer and Google form link today. The form must be completed IF ATTENDING by March 20.

This dance is for current KMS 7th graders. The attire is non-formal. Please save formal attire for your 8th-grade farewell next year. There only will be light snacks and drinks available.

Dayton Dragons Family Night
Dayton Dragons have reserved a section of seats for Kettering Middle School.
Each stadium seat ticket is $14. KMS PTO will receive $7 for each ticket sold.
