KETTERING MIDDLE SCHOOL
Before School Program

7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

The student school day begins promptly at 8:40 a.m. and ends at 3:40 p.m. The Kettering City School District developed a “Before School Program” (BSP) to assist parents with the care and safety of their child. The goal of the program is to accommodate parents who need to leave for work and do not want their child to remain at home alone. For a minimal cost, Kettering Middle School will offer a supervised program each day in the KMS cafeteria. Below is an outline describing the program.

Program Design: The morning program is designed to have qualified personnel supervising the students. Students may use the time in the following manner:

  • Complete school work

  • Receive peer tutoring

  • Eat a full breakfast which will be served at 8:10 a.m.

  • Visit quietly with others

Program Cost: In order to fund the program, the parent will be charged a minimal fee.

  • $7.00/per hour/per child or if attending less than 1 hour

  • $1.75 per quarter hour/per child

Payment is required on the day the student attends the BSP. Parents may pay daily or in advance. Parents are to accompany their child for the initial enrollment. Please make checks out to: Kettering City Schools.

PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN THE FRIDAY OF THE WEEK THE STUDENT IS ATTENDING.

Student Expectations: All school rules and consequences will apply to this program. Students may lose the privilege to attend due to their inappropriate behavior.
