Community Input on Grant Funding

The Kettering City school district will hold a community meeting The district receives funds through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) via the Consolidated Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP) that are called Title funds or Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) funds. Monies received through these funds are used to provide financial assistance to the district and schools with high percentages of children from low-income families to make sure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Monies are also received through IDEA-B (Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act) and are used to provide special education services to students with identified disabilities, ages 3-21.

Kettering City Schools is required to provide equitable services to private schools for certain federal funds. Timely consultation with private school officials enables Kettering City Schools to provide effective programs for eligible private school children, teachers, and families.

The district welcomes the general public and parents/guardians of the children enrolled to provide input regarding the use of these funds at the meeting. Comments may also be sent to Dan VonHandorf, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, or Aaron Horton, Supervisor of Special Education
Services at 500 Lincoln Park Blvd. You may also email input to: dan.vonhandorf@ketteringschool.org or aaron.horton@ketteringschool.org.
