Toby Henderson has lived in Kettering for more than a decade and in Montgomery County for more than 20 years.  He has been in the private practice of law since 1999 and maintains an international practice.  He has been awarded an Associate of Science Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Vincennes University, a Bachelor of Science Degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Ball State University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law.  Toby brings deep business, financial and legal experience to his role on the Kettering Board of Education.      

Toby has been involved in numerous philanthropic and professional foundations and associations, including the Dayton Children’s Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees; Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley Board of Trustees; Boonshoft Museum of Discovery Associate Board; and the Dayton Art Institute Associate Board.  He is a member of the Dayton, Ohio State, American, and Federal Bar Associations (Trustee) and the Dayton Lawyers Club. 

Toby has considerable community and school volunteer experience, including serving on the City of Kettering Board of Zoning Appeals, as a sports coach at the Kettering Recreation Center for many years and volunteering time at various Kettering School District activities such as the Southdale Strong 5K.  He has received numerous recognitions for his work and community involvement over the years, including being honored in 2007 by the Dayton Business Journal as a “Superachiever Under 40,” which recognizes area leaders for professional success and community involvement, being recognized in The Best Lawyers in America (2013-2021), and being selected in 2011-2021 as a Super Lawyer and included in the Ohio Super Lawyers publication.  Toby is a member of the Leadership Dayton Class of 2008.

Toby and his wife Jody, who is an educator, have three daughters who currently attend Kettering Fairmont High School and Van Buren Middle School.  Toby and his family are members of St. Albert the Great in Kettering and Immaculate Conception Church in Dayton.
