Mark Martin, who has resided in Kettering for 20 years, is the Executive Director of Manufacturing for Community Tissue Services.
When asked about his interest in serving on the Kettering Board of Education, Martin pointed to his many years of volunteer work in everything from coaching in the Kettering Youth Football and Cheer organization to supporting his niece by volunteering with the Girl Scouts. “I have always had a passion for helping young people,” says Martin. “Over the years, I have served as a mentor for a number of students -- in particular, those students who come from single-parent households. I was raised by a single Mom who approached everything with a positive perspective and always encouraged me to work hard and make that extra effort, and I’ve always tried to pass along those qualities to my own kids and to the kids I mentor.”
Martin received his bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Dayton, where he was a varsity letter winner on the Flyer football team. He went on to earn his MBA in business administration/healthcare administration from Strayer University.
Martin and his wife Jennifer have two sons, both of whom are graduates of Kettering Fairmont High School.
