Substitute Teachers and Substitute Paraprofessionals

The Kettering City Schools employ substitute teachers and substitute paraprofessionals for a variety of positions within our district.  All Substitute Teachers and Substitute Paraprofessionals must meet state-required education levels, based on the job title, and must be able to pass a background check.

You must register by completing an application (EXTERNAL Application) on the Dayton Area School Jobs Consortium and clicking on “apply" for the posting for which you are interested.  You will be contacted by email with further instructions/information.

School Bus Substitute Drivers

The Kettering City School District's Transportation Department is seeking substitute bus drivers. Substitute bus drivers are used on an as-needed basis, and there are no set hours for these positions. The department prefers drivers who have a Class B CDL with an SP Endorsement. However, the department will provide training for qualified applicants who pass a background check and physical.

School Custodian Substitutes

The Kettering City School District's Buildings & Grounds Department is seeking substitute custodians. Interested parties can email resumes to Mike Hart, Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds, or apply in-person, Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the B&G Offices, 2636 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, Ohio 45419.

Food & Nutrition Services Substitutes

The Food and Nutrition Services Department is looking for friendly substitute cafeteria workers to assist with the production and service of lunch. If you are looking for a fast-paced and fun work environment, give us a call! We will provide on-the-job training and can have you serving the students of Kettering immediately.
