Colamity Day Procedure

In the event of a “calamity day,” the Kettering City School District will delay or close school, dependent upon the weather forecast for that day. If there is a need to delay or close school, the following procedures will be followed:

The Kettering City Schools typically delay school for a period of two hours when the forecast indicates that weather conditions will improve through the morning. If school is delayed for two hours, school will begin at the following times:

Fairmont High School – 9:50 a.m.

Middle Schools  --  10:40 a.m.

Elementary Schools (grades K-5) – 10:15 a.m.

Integrated Preschool Programs:

Morning preschool is CANCELLED
PM Preschool will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Begins at 10 a.m.

KECEC Childcare:
Begins at 9:30 a.m.

BEFORE-SCHOOL CHILDCARE IN KCS BUILDINGS – Before-school childcare will begin at the regular time, 6:45 a.m., when the district is on a 2-hour delay. If school subsequently closes, parents/guardians will be notified and must arrange to pick up their child within 30 minutes of being notified.

All classes for students Pre-K-12 are cancelled.

There will be NO CHILDCARE provided when school is closed.
