Kettering BOE Seeking Applications for Vacant Board Seat

 

 

The Kettering Board of Education is accepting applications for a seat on the Board of Education. The board seat is vacant following the retirement of Kettering Board of Education member, Lori Parks. Citing work-related responsibilities, Parks tendered her retirement, effective December 31, 2022.

The Kettering City Schools extend sincere appreciation to Mrs. Parks for her 19 years of service and leadership to the students, staff and community of the Kettering City School District.

Interested applicants are asked to include a cover letter and resume with their completed application. All can be submitted immediately to:

According to Ohio law, individuals serving on school boards must be:

  • Residents of the school district

  • Registered voters in the school district, and

  • At least 18-years-of-age

The individual selected by the Board of Education to fill the vacant seat will complete the remaining year of the term, with the expectation that they will run for election for a full four-year term in November 2023. 

The Kettering BOE will accept applications through Friday, January 13, 2023, at 3 p.m.  All submitted applications will be reviewed by the Board of Education during the week of January 16-20, 2023, with the goal of appointing an individual to the vacant seat at its January 24, 2023, Regular Board Meeting in the Recital Hall at Fairmont High School.
